The Moat House | Claire + Chris

Today was yet another wedding that could have fallen victim to the unsettled weather that we experience in this country.  It kept fine for the grooms arrivals, bucketed down just before the brides entrance, cleared up for the family groups and the bride & groom’s personal portraits before monsoon like conditions forced us inside with just one outdoor shot still to do – the main group shot of 80 people – an impossible indoor shot……then with just 5 minutes to go till the wedding breakfast was due to be served at The Moat House – clear skies – just enough time to finish the coverage – wow – that was a close one!

Today’s wedding at The Moat House was due to begin with me photographing the brides dress, bouquet and shoes just before her final preparations and dressing………afraid Claire was just a little in front, she was already in her wonderful gown from Mi Amor Bridal, but what a picture she made.  The complimentary bouquet and indeed all of the floral decorations were provided by the very talented Lavender Florist.  Next on the agenda were Chris and the guys looking, pardon the pun, dapper in their suits from Dapper Dan.

The guests were being entertained by Nero String Quartet as they awaited the arrival of the bride for the ceremony in the Acton Suite, dressed to perfection as always by Design Elegance

I will always remember todays exchange of vows for the expressions and reactions as the couple agreed to give each other patience, humour and understanding – priceless.

Family groups and personal portraits of the couple then followed in the wonderful Moat House grounds before the rain forced us back inside.  Soon it was time for photographs in the Acton Suite now transformed for the wedding breakfast with a wonderful creation from Amerton Cakes taking centre stage.

Just one photo remained to complete Claire & Chris’s coverage – The main group shot – but as meal time approached the monsoon like conditions prevailed…..with just 5 minutes to go……..as if by magic the skies cleared…….just enough time to capture this final and all important shot for this lovely couple.
