Berry Head Hotel, Brixham| Helen + Simon

I first met Helen at a Bridal Fayre in Staffordshire and when she told me that she was to marry in Brixham, I was able to tell her about the many happy years I spent on holiday there.
It turned out that for many of these holidays I stayed at the same holiday centre as Helen and her family, Landscove, and believe it or not I later found out from her that this fact was very influential to her when deciding to ask me to photograph her wedding..!!

Gone are the days when a photographer worked his local “patch”, our work now takes us much farther afield to many exciting places.
So today was to be yet another “first” in an ever increasing list of firsts-the wonderfully positioned Berry Head Hotel in Brixham.
To be honest, having got to know Helen and Simon so well before their wedding day I felt more like a guest than a worker and this friendship shone through as the days photography unfolded.
My “work” started the day before photographing many scenes from the area to remind the couple of the area they chose to get wed, not that they will much reminding, they relocate to this delightful area early next year.

On the day, I joined Helen and the girls as they prepared for this special occasion, before leaving to find Simon and the guys at church,
Who had bought a little bit of home with them…suits from Duncan James!!

Soon it was time for Helen to join Simon and she arrived in true seaside style in a VW camper van.
Lovely ceremony from the priest who had taken the time to get to know the couple, including asking them to write down a few lines as to
why they loved each other..which he then duly shared with the congregation..!

After the ceremony it was off in the camper for seashore photos before rejoining the guests at the fabulously located Berry Head Hotel, for cliff top family group photos. Helen and Simon then spent a little time with me for once in a lifetime photos on the rocks with the sea as a backdrop.

We then moved in to the reception room which the couple had decorated, very tastefully with a seaside theme.
After a traditional seaside meal of Fish and Chips and a cream tea, it was time to enjoy the evening

The weather that had been kind to the couple, inspite of the forecast saved it’s best till last…a glorious sunset across Torbay.
Equally glorious was he couples first dance,unbeknown to anyone they had taken dance lessons to strut their stuff to a Sinatra classic
All told a fantastic couple of days, and many congratulations to Helen and Simon for putting it all together
