Twixmas is a lovely time of year for a wedding and today was no exception, everyone was intent on extending the Christmas spirit just that little bit further. The Moat House looked stunning with a mixture of Christmas decorations and the couples own chosen theme.

The forecast for today was rain, wind, rain, wind and more rain so any outdoor shots would be a bonus. We were fortunate enough to be able to capture all the church arrivals and a few groups after the ceremony before the elements took control. Thankfully the reception was at The Moat House which has many indoor locations for us to use.

Today’s wedding was our third church wedding in as many weeks, a little bit like buses, wait for one then three come together. St Michael & All Angels at Rushall is one of my favourite churches and provided a wonderful setting for the marriage of Gemma & Dave, with further photos being taken at Walsall Arboretum and their venue – The Chase Golf Club.

The first time I met Jenna she was a bridesmaid at her brother’s wedding, so she had first hand knowledge of how we perform on a live wedding. It wasn’t long before Danny and Jenna came along to discuss their special day with us. Their original plans had been thrown into turmoil as the venue they had chosen had ceased trading, fortunately for them the fabulous Moat House had a date available, the rest as they say is history.

Recent weddings have seen me photograph guests from all parts of the world; Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada, Malaysia, Europe. Today I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Shereen’s family who had travelled from Abu Dhabi for the wedding at The Upper House at Barlaston. Long gone are the days of being “The Village” photographer.
